Government Finance

This section provides data on Government Finance Statistics (GFS) and Public Sector Debt Statistics (PSDS) for the Central Government.

The GFS records fiscal operations including revenue and expenditure categories. The compilation is based on the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Government Finance Statistics Manual 2014 (GFSM 2014), which is part of a series of international guidelines on statistical methodologies the IMF issued to support macroeconomic analysis.

The PSDS compilation which is based on the Public Sector Debt Statistics: Guide for Compilers and Users provides data on Gross Central Government debt by maturity and type of debt instrument, currency of denomination and residence of creditors. 

The Government Finance is at a deficit of -280.2 billion dollars for the 4th quarter of 2022. This is a further deficit of $184.2 billion from the 3rd to the 4th quarter.
