National Consumer Price Index declines by 1.8 percent in November 2025

The National Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped 1.8 to130.3 during the month of November 2025.

The latest report released on Monday 19th January 2026 stated through the year, compared to the same month in 2024, the National CPI rose by 0.5 percent.

The most significant changes by major expenditure groups from the previous month include:

  • Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages: (-2.5%)
  • Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics: (-5.3%)
  • Housing, water, electricity, gas & other fuels: (-0.4%) 
  • Transport: (+0.3%)

The Solomon Islands inflation rate calculated on a 3-months moving average basis was +3.4% in November 2025. The corresponding inflation rates for imported items was +0.3% while other (domestic) items inflation rate was +4.7% for November 2025.

The Solomon Islands underlying rates of inflation based on a 3-months moving average were observed between +0.3% and +1.1% in November 2025.

The headline inflation rates for the respective provincial towns calculated on a 3-months moving average basis were: Honiara: (+1.9%); Auki: (+5.9%); Gizo: (-0.5%), and Noro: (+3.7%).

Honiara: (-1.6%)

The most significant changes in movements include:

  • Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics: (-4.7%)
  • Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels: (-0.3%)
  • Furnishings, household equipment & routine household maintenance: (+0.2%)
  • Transport: (+0.3%)

Auki: (-1.5%), 

The main contributors to the movements were:

  • Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages: (-2.0%)
  • Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics: (+1.5%)
  • Clothing & footwear: (-2.3%)
  • Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels: (-1.0%)
  • Furnishings, household equipment & routine household maintenance: (-2.4%)
  • Transport: (-2.4%)

Gizo: (-2.4%)

The main drivers to these movements were: 

  • Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages: (-4.4%)
  • Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics: (+1.5%)
  • Clothing & footwear: (-0.2%)
  • Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels: (-1.5%)
  • Furnishings, household equipment & routine household maintenance: (+1.2%)
  • Transport: (-1.1%)

Noro: (-1.1%)

The main contributors to the movements were:

  • Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages: (-2.8%)
  • Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics: (+0.4%)
