Team three of Western Province has wrapped up its enumeration of the Household and Income survey, HIES 2024-2025 with their final Enumeration Area at Ringgi.
Team three is the first team to conclude their enumeration for the HIES.
Team leader Radley Kuve said it is a huge relief for him noting that the overall HIES enumeration in other provinces will conclude in early October 2025.
“At the start of the survey I was not too sure about how I will lead the team. But as we progressed, I learned to handle the pressures of the responsibilities and carry them out.
“Of course, we still have to sync all the data from our last EA at Paradise and this EA, and wait for feedback, but I will now be able to sleep better at night.”
“We have experienced a lot as a team, but we are happy that our work is now almost complete.”
Team Three has left Ringgi, returning to Marovo last week.

Meanwhile,Team Two of Western Province has reached its smallest Enumeration Area, in Kolombangara, Western Province.
Located in Ward 12 Kolombangara islands, Ireke is the smallest Enumeration Area Team Two has encountered in the Central part of Western Province.
Team Leader Bryce Kanavari said Ireke community has only thirteen houses.
“Out of this thirteen, twelve were selected leaving only one reserve household. Every one of the houses is important for my team. It was fortunate that there was no need for any replacement.”
Mr Kanavari noted that the survey has given him the opportunity to return to the communities and examine their living conditions.
“When we go to them, we see the need they have in their communities. We can see their life style patterns.
“We hope that with the information collected we can help to improve their livelihood.”
He added that the HIES has helped to shape each member within his team.
“The trainings we received at the start has helped us immensely. Each day we deal with different people so we have been prepared. It has also taken a lot of effort and commitment to carry out this survey.”
Team Two’s next Enumeration Area is in the provincial capital Gizo.

The HIES is a 12-month survey under Component 1 of the Building Capacity in Statistics and Audit, CAPSA Project, a joint project between the Solomon Islands Government and the World Bank.
The Solomon Islands National Statistics Office is implementing the survey on behalf of the national government.
